Global Warming

Global warming refers to an average increase in the Earth's temperature, which in turn causes changes in climate. A warmer Earth may lead to changes in rainfall patterns, a rise in sea level and a wide range of impacts on plants, wildlife and humans. When scientists talk about the issue of climate change, their concern is about global warming caused by human activities. Coal-burning power and Automobiles are the largest source for pollution. There are several distinct causes of global warming. The first cause is the Greenhouse gases. Scientists are sure about the greenhouse effect; they know that the gases make the Earth warmer by trapping energy in the atmosphere. Another cause is Carbon Dioxide from transportation. Cars, Airplanes and ships Emit CO2 which pollutes the ozone atmosphere. In addition, the increase of global temperature affects on the Sea levels that it rises up. Furthermore, melting ice affects on the amount of the sea.

Causes of Global Warming

Global Warming is caused by many things. The causes are split up into two groups, man-made causes and natural causes.
Natural Causes
Natural causes are causes created by nature. One natural cause is a release of methane gas from arctic tundra and wetlands. Methane is a greenhouse gas which traps heat in the earth's atmosphere. Another natural cause is that the earth goes through a cycle of climate change. This climate change usually lasts about 40,000 years.
Man-made Causes
Man-made causes probably do the most damage. There are many man-made causes. Pollution is one of the biggest man-made problems. Pollution comes in many shapes and sizes. Burning fossil fuels is one thing that causes pollution. Fossil fuels are fuels made of organic matter such as coal, or oil. When fossil fuels are burned they give off a greenhouse gas called CO2. Also mining coal and oil allows methane to escape. Methane is naturally in the ground. When coal or oil is mined you have to dig up the earth a little. When you dig up the fossil fuels you dig up the methane as well.
Another major man-made cause of global warming is population. More people mean more food, and more methods of transportation. That means more methane because there will be more burning of fossil fuels, and more agriculture. Agriculture is going to be damaged by global warming, but also agriculture is going to help reduce the causes of global warming by converting the CO2 to oxygen. Another source of methane is manure and animals like cows are a source of food which means more manure and methane. Another problem with the increasing population is transportation. More people mean more cars and more cars means more pollution. Also, many people have more than one car.
Carbon dioxide is the main cause of global warming. The increase in population makes the problem worse because we breathe out CO2. Also, the trees that convert our CO2 to oxygen are being demolished because we cut trees and build our homes and buildings but without replacing it with something that can preserve nature, I instead we ruin it more, so we are constantly taking advantage of our natural resources and giving nothing back in return.

Air pollution causes (specific causes)

There are many things that can damage the earth surface and the most important cause is the stuck significant objects such as greenhouse, are found in the fine sand which is spreading in the air. Also, the polluters that are converted by burning oil help in increasing air pollution. Besides that, the cars emit dangerous gases such as, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and sulphur dioxide. Firstly, carbon monoxide (Co) affects human skin. It causes skin diseases. This gas is faster to absorb by red blood cells than Oxygen. This absorption leads to death. Second, carbon dioxide (Co2) has bad effects on human breathing. If a man breathes this gas in, the amount of Oxygen becomes very little. This effect leads to death. Finally, Sulphur Dioxide (So2) is produced by burning oil from factories. If this gas insert inside human body, it will cause dangerous diseases especially in the chest.

Effects of global warming

The predicted effects of global warming on the environment and for human life are numerous and varied. Actually, global warming has obvious effects in the environment. To begin with, global warming affects the level of water which causes more floods by melting the ice and ice are melting from sun heat. Flooding is a danger to human settlements or habitants. It may leave the habitants transfer to other places. In addition, the quality of the water degrades because of climate change. The effect of global warming becomes very wide by rising and spreading infectious diseases, such as Cholera. Furthermore, the humans will suffer from several problems are having more frequent, more people heat waves, droughts and tropical cyclones. These problems cause damage in the human societies.

Sea level rising (specific effect):

The most important effect that can be seen is flooding. The temperature of the global warming melts the ice and rise the sea level, raising the sea level expands the oceans, waves will affected by changing water level, increase in wave height will effected by increase the depth and the resulting of height wave will attack and causes land loss. Global climate change will have an impact in the medium to long-term. Flooding of coastal areas could become a problem as sea levels rise from polar ice cap melting and thermal expansion. Flooding of low-lying areas in Abu Dhabi Emirate could lead to:
• Increased salinity in coastal aquifers.
• Increased soil salinity.

Global warming in the UAE

Global warming happens due to the changes which are represented by increase in temperatures, increase population and increasing human activities. The changes in chemical compounds which are exist in the atmosphere because of the Greenhouse.
In the U.A.E, scientists know that global warming became worse in the last years especially in Sharjah. Also, scientists said Abu Dhabi has less warming than Dubai. Dubai has more increasing in temperature because it is the most crowded place in the U.A.E. high temperature will affect the climate and make the global warmer and warmer.

What the purpose of this blog?

During this English project I learnt a lot of things. I had my project which is about global warming. I surf in the internet and I read a lot about it, but the difficult part was to search in the newspaper because it’s more than advance level and a lot of new vocabulary. Moreover, my skill improved a lot because now I’m capable of doing a blog. Furthermore, I find out more about global warming in general, the causes, the effects, global warming in the UAE and some solutions of global warming. I hope you enjoy my blog and take you attention. Also I’m going to help the global warming by thinking and adding new solution for example not use my car in the village, advising people and send some suggestions to the government like force people not use their own car on Friday, plant tree in their garden and stop the factory once a week.

Individual action

In United Arab Emirates government can help global warming by force all families to have no more than one car, so we are reduce the CO2 in the air. Also force all families to plant trees in their garden. Another idea to help global warming is to make one day a week or even a month that no body can use his car. It may take longer but this will make people exercise. My individual action is plant trees, drive my car much less than now, give an idea to merge the factory that produce similar products. Finally, advise people and warn them about global warming.
